Tip - 1394 Net Adapter Connecting to internet

Hi, can somebody please help? I'm unable to connect to the internet following a house move (I was able to before). I have a 1394 Net Adapter but I'm told that I need to download some Ethernet software? I'm using a Shuttle SB83G5...
