Everytime I would visit Brazil, I thought that to drive I was required to carry the Inter-American Driving Permit (not the same as the International Driver's Permit, which is not accepted in Brazil).  If you are stopped by authorities (another post to come...) that will certainly be helpful, as it'll contain official instructions in Portuguese.…
