Tip - HDMI won't connect to JVC hd tv

Let me start with the notebook in questions info   HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n013dx Notebook PC Windows 8.1   I am trying to connect to my HD tv and I get nothing at all on my tv pic or sound I have looked at the threads like it but none of the soulutions worked for me.
