Tip - HELP! Dyeing a fake leather jacket

So I have this fake leather jacket that I want to dye either black or dark red. Ive been searching on the internet for things to use to dye it but I'm not really finding a whole lot. I found this spray paint type stuff at the paint store but I'm not really sure how well it will work. Has anyone tried dyeing fake leather and had success? What would you recommend using? Pictures? Thanks
