Tip - How to Extract the laser diodes from a DVD burner computer drive

Need a laser? There's a perfectly good one embedded in your defunct DVD burner, so instead of tossing it away, disassemble it and perform a little electronics surgery to extract the laser diode. This video will show you how it's done, using a Philips 16X DVD burner to find the 200mW red laser.
