At last year’s National Business Aviation Association static display of aircraft, I couldn’t help but be excited about all the new and upcoming business jet models.  The manufacturers tempt us with bigger, better, faster, and more comfortable.  I’ve noticed that my charter clients are also excited by these new offerings as I get more and more requests for the latest and greatest business jet models.  At the same time, there is more demand for a good value when chartering.  The new jets and turboprops typically demand a premium price however.  If you truly are seeking a good deal on your next charter flight, consider a nicely refurbished, but older aircraft. There is a big difference between a 1990 Chevrolet and a 1990 Gulfstream!  Just because a jet is 21 years old, does not mean it is not a safe and smart option for your charter.  Lear 35’s, 31’s, Beechjet 400’s, Citaion II’s, Hawker 700’s and Gulfstream III’s are safe, comfortable, and if nicely done, can have the same look, cabin features and comfort of the brand new aircraft.  You’ll be pleasantly surprised with the pricing as well.  Often times these older, but nicely refurbished, jets can be a great deal …
