You can install KK after rooting your phone with the method explained in the XDA guide I am linking you too. Just make sure you backup your contacts and everything important and use a laptop for the process.

i tried the free software from oneclickroot.com and it worked just fine with my Xperia phone. Just make sure your P is compatible with it.
