Tip - Keeping Dogs out of the Flower Beds

Why is it that ever dog in the neighborhood has to do his "business" in my flower beds/Lawn ?? Any suggestions on a easy inexpensive solution that will not harm the plants or the dogs ?? Thanks Texasjoe
