Restoring Aluminum Siding

WHEN aluminum siding was first marketed about 50 years ago, it was touted as a long-lasting, maintenance-free alternative to traditional sidings such as clapboard or wood shingles. Since aluminum is rotproof, waterproof, corrosion-resistant and able to withstand years of exposure to the elements, the siding itself will last virtually indefinitely if simply left alone. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the fine layer of paint that stands between aluminum siding and the rest of the world.
