Tips for Babyproofing a House

You don't want your baby to get trapped in a box or cabinet with the lid closing on top of him. Make sure all the boxes you use have open tops and preferably round corners.

Your kid will reach for the television and if its a flat screen, it is quite likely that it will tip over forward or backwards. Get a tv strap (I have shared the link for one below) and secure your television to protect your baby and your investment.

My wife and I bought most of our baby proofing items at the local BabiesRus. You must always keep in mind their safety first. We have a fireplace in our family room, and during a family gathering my nephew fell and hit his head on a corner causing a blood gushing injury with a need for stitches too.  Day after the injury, I headed over to BabiesRus and picked up a fat plastic corner cover.  Wow, this thing amazing I tell you. 

Since your toddler is going to be walking around the house soon you should invest in getting indoor safety gates to block access to dangerous areas like the stairs and the kitchen.

You can redecorate, get higher tables and place breakable items out of the baby's reach. Generally any pots, plates and decoration pieces should be moved to higher shelves and nothing that can tip over, be broken, or cause the baby to choke should be in range.
